What Happened to Titan Solar Power?

Titan Solar Power was a large solar installer headquartered in Chandler, Arizona that installed residential solar systems in Arizona and numerous other states.

In June 2024, Titan Solar Power and affiliated companies entered Chapter 7 bankruptcy proceedings in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Arizona.

Titan Solar Power is no longer operating or providing service to its former customers.

For Arizona homeowners, that created a practical problem:
The installer may be gone, but thousands of solar systems are still sitting on homes and still need to work.

If something fails, you need someone who is willing and qualified to work on a system they didn’t originally install.

That’s where Watt Masters can help.

Having a Titan Solar System Doesn't Mean You're Stuck

One of the most common misconceptions after a solar installer closes is that nobody else can touch the system. That's generally not true. Your solar system is made up of electrical and solar equipment that can be inspected, diagnosed, repaired, and, when necessary, replaced by a qualified contractor. Depending on when and how your Titan system was installed, it may contain equipment from manufacturers such as:

Titan Solar Inverter Repair

Is Your Titan Solar System Not Producing?

The inverter is one of the first places to investigate when an existing solar system suddenly stops producing or experiences a major production drop.

Former Titan installations included systems using SolarEdge and Enphase equipment, among other components.

Image

Signs of a possible inverter or solar electrical problem can include:

  • Solar production suddenly dropping to zero
  • An inverter showing an error or fault code
  • SolarEdge inverter not producing
  • Enphase system or microinverters reporting problems
  • Monitoring showing the system offline
  • One portion of the array producing less than expected
  • Breakers repeatedly tripping
  • System shutting down unexpectedly
  • Electric bills increasing despite similar usage
  • Solar monitoring no longer reporting production

An inverter error doesn’t automatically mean you need a new inverter.

The underlying issue could involve the inverter, optimizers, microinverters, wiring, breakers, disconnects, communications, connections, or another electrical component.

Watt Masters troubleshoots the system before recommending what to replace.

What If My Titan SolarEdge Inverter Failed?

SolarEdge equipment was installed on some Titan Solar Power systems. If your SolarEdge inverter is showing a fault, isn't producing, or appears offline, we can diagnose the solar and electrical system to determine what is actually causing the problem.

Depending on the system, service may involve:

  • SolarEdge inverter diagnostics
  • Fault-code troubleshooting
  • Optimizer troubleshooting
  • DC and AC electrical testing
  • Breaker and disconnect inspection
  • Wiring and connection testing
  • Monitoring and communication troubleshooting
  • Inverter replacement when necessary
  • System recommissioning after repairs

Don’t assume a dead-looking SolarEdge system means the entire solar array has failed.

The panels may still be perfectly usable.

What If My Titan System Uses Enphase?

Some Titan installations used Enphase equipment rather than a traditional string inverter.

An Enphase system can develop different service problems, including failed microinverters, communication issues, gateway problems, electrical faults, or individual modules that stop reporting properly.

Watt Masters can inspect the system and determine whether the issue is isolated to one component or affects the larger array.

Knowing what equipment Titan installed on your particular home is the starting point.

Is My Titan Solar Warranty Still Valid?

This is where the answer needs a little nuance.

There are usually two different kinds of warranty involved with a solar installation:

Titan Workmanship or Service Warranty

Any workmanship, labor, production, or service obligation provided directly by Titan Solar Power may be affected by the company’s closure and bankruptcy.
Watt Masters does not assume Titan’s warranties or contractual obligations.

Manufacturer Equipment Warranty

Your solar equipment may have separate warranties issued by the equipment manufacturer.
Those warranties are different from Titan’s workmanship warranty.

Depending on your system, manufacturer coverage may potentially exist for equipment such as:

Image
  • Solar panels
  • Inverters
  • Microinverters
  • Power optimizers
  • Batteries
  • Other covered components

Coverage depends on the specific manufacturer, model, installation date, warranty terms, failure, and other conditions.

If you’re unsure what equipment you have, start there.

We can identify the equipment installed on your system and diagnose the problem so you know what you’re actually dealing with.

Common Titan Solar Problems We Can Troubleshoot

Solar System Not Producing

If monitoring shows little or no production, we'll determine where the failure is occurring rather than automatically recommending a new system.

Failed or Faulted Inverter

We can troubleshoot inverter errors, electrical faults, wiring, disconnects, breakers, and related equipment.

Solar Monitoring Is Offline

Sometimes the array is producing but the homeowner can no longer see it. Other times lost monitoring is the first clue that something has failed.

We can investigate communication and monitoring problems as part of the system diagnosis.

One Section of the Solar Array Isn't Working

Depending on the equipment, a problem with a string, optimizer, microinverter, connection, or module can affect only part of the system.

Electrical Problems

Solar is electrical infrastructure.

Loose or damaged connections, failed breakers, damaged conduit, grounding issues, disconnect problems, and other electrical faults require an electrician who understands photovoltaic systems.

Roof Work or Solar Panel Removal

If you need a new roof, the solar array may need to be safely removed and reinstalled. Watt Masters can coordinate solar panel removal and reinstallation with your roofing project.

System Inspection

Bought a home with a Titan system? Not sure if it's working correctly? An inspection and production review can give you a much clearer picture of what you actually own.

We can troubleshoot existing Enphase-based solar systems, including problems involving microinverters, communications, electrical components, and system production.

Titan-provided workmanship or service obligations may have been affected by its bankruptcy. Separate manufacturer warranties on panels, inverters, microinverters, optimizers, batteries, or other equipment may still apply depending on their individual terms.

Do not assume so. Solar financing agreements are generally separate from installer service obligations. Contact your lender regarding your financing agreement and seek legal advice when appropriate.

Not necessarily. A production failure can result from an inverter, optimizer, microinverter, breaker, wiring, communication, or other component problem. Diagnosis should come before deciding whether major equipment replacement is necessary.

Potentially. The solution depends on the monitoring platform, equipment, account access, communications hardware, and condition of the system. We can investigate monitoring problems as part of troubleshooting.
